Facebook is exploding, at least in my world. Old college dorm-mates and even high school acquaintances have been adding me. I accept their friend requests and write on their walls to say hello. Most of them haven’t responded. I don’t get it. They can take the stalker-ish effort to look me up and add me, but writing back a personal message is too hard?
Then again I have come to realize that the norm is to NOT write back. I no longer take it personally from friends. I understand it’s impossible to keep up with all forms of communication, but it still stings when a family relation doesn’t write back. That’s the one last expectation I have in terms of hearing back from people.
