Prius newspaper

This morning a guy merged really quick and cut off dozens of people in the crazy 92/280 merge lane. I glanced over at the Prius driver and he was reading a full sized newspaper with the rest of it sprawled all over his dashboard. If he cares so little about his car, I’ll ask him if I can get his spare parts when he inevitably crashes.

50.3 and gassy

I had a Jamba Juice earlier today and it’s givin me gas. TMI?

My car’s MFD (multifunctional display) is showing 50.3 MPG. Take that, JL! She told me to refrain from hitting the Reset button after each fill-up and challenged me to see what my average is after a few tanks. Well it’s been three tanks of gas and it’s slowly climbing to 51.0.

Spring ‘09

Toyota announced that the next generation Prius will be delayed until spring 2009. I’m happy about this. It means they are taking their time to work out the kinks with the new engine and lithium battery. More importantly, it means my 2nd generation Prius won’t be obsolete THAT soon. Who knew cars would become obsolete as quickly as iPods?

To Tahoe and back

I avoid this gas station for obvious reasons; these are the most ridiculous prices I’ve seen in this area. Last Saturday we went to a wedding near Truckee and back on one tank of gas! I was worried about the engine working so hard to take us up the mountains but it was fine. Besides, the trip back down the mountain gave us 75+ mpg.

Prius

I bought a Prius, so add one more annoying slow driver to the freeways. At least until my break-in period is over.
